Recipies in demo version??

I just downloaded the demo version and was trying to add a recipe, but the New Recipe screen just had a find box -- no way to enter a recipe (I watched the demo). But there are about 100 recipes already in the chest. Is it possible that that's why I can't add a recipe -- due to the 75 recipe limit in the demo version? If so, may I have a clean copy, please? I downloaded from the California site, if that makes a difference.

I'm really excited about this program. At last, a program for and by geeks! And spreadsheet-based -- Perfect! I LOVE how flexible it is.

Forum: General Support

I'm using Kdiet 12.6. Is it possible in this or later versions to include one recipe as ingredient in another recipe? I tried searching the forums for an answer, but the da**ed search function keeps tossing out important words that it considers common.

Forum: Kathleen's Diet Planner

3 Nutrients *and* calories

Hi Paul, long time no talk to. I would love to be able to plot 3 nutients (protein, Atkins carb, total fat) *and* calories on the same Quick Report. (Actually, I would probably plot 10% of calories to keep it in a similar scale as the other nutrients since I'm more interested in relative change that absolute total).

From what I see, I could only do that if I start tracking calories in the Help U Track. Or is there some slick trick that you can share? You usually have something up your sleeve

Thx,
Sharvo,

Forum: Kathleen's Diet Planner

I purchased Kathleen's Diet Planner a few years ago and then got lazy and quite using it. Having just been diagnosed with diabetes, my interest in the details of what I'm eating has skyrocked.

What do I need to provide you to verify myself as a purchaser eligible to receive updates?

Also, I'm not sure (going to check), but the program might have been on a HD that crashed - at any rate I think I want the program running on my newer desk top.

Thanks,

William

Forum: Kathleen's Diet Planner

Export to Open Office?

I will be purchasing Kdiet146, and was wondering if there are plans to be able to export to Open Office. I still have MS Office 03, but have recently started using Open Office, and find I much prefer it. I guess I could export to Excel then import to OpenOffice Calc, but was just wondering if it's in the plans or could be included in future revisions.

Forum: Kathleen's Diet Planner

PrePurchase Questions

I have downloaded your demo and watched your tutorials. I still have a few questions before I make my purchase.
My mother is currently in the hospital. When she returns home she is going to be on a very restricted diet. We are not looking for a weight loss program but something where we will be able to make meal plans, track sodium, protein and water intake. She is also diabetic and we have always used the American Diabetes Association Exchanges when planning her meals.

My questions are:

Are any diabetic exchanges included in the current foods list?
Is there a way to print a monthly food plan?
I have been given a list of very low sodium, medium sodium and high sodium foods (about 100) but I am interested in building these lists as we work through this life change for her. Is this possible with your program?
It appears that I should be able to move the columns around so I would be able to see sodium and water content first but I am not sure if I would still be seeing the Protein, Carbs and Fats in the pie chart. Will they still show?
Do you have a printed copy of the user manual rather than a download?
Will I be able to alter the goals for the sodium, protien and water in her profile?

I am sure I will think of more questions but this should be enough to get me started.

Forum: Kathleen's Diet Planner

nice to have

Hey Paul,

Not withstanding the fact that Kathleen's diet planner is the best program of its kind that I've seen, here are a couple of 'nice to have':
a) Although I have a wide screen monitor, I can't see all the data for a meal (or day) all at once. It would be nice to have a detail screen that displays all (suppress 0's if data is too much?)
b) I think I asked you this before with an earlier release. But is there an odbc driver available for the database? This would allow me to do custom reports in Crystal.

Cheers, Hans

Forum: Kathleen's Diet Planner
